At El Alsson International School Saqqara, we recognize the importance of providing a strong foundation for our youngest learners. Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) program is designed to foster the holistic development of children aged three to five, preparing them for a successful transition into primary school.
The EYFS program at El Alsson is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage framework, which emphasizes the importance of play-based learning, exploration, and building positive relationships. We believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences and active engagement with their environment.
Our dedicated team of experienced early years educators understands the unique needs of young learners and is committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
BCAW is an academic program designed by El Alsson education experts. In this program, we combined the British and the American programs together to take advantage of the benefits and strengths found in each. In this program, we teach the British curriculum, but in the American way, that’s why we named it BCAW. In the early years, children are eased into academic studies, and there is a heavy emphasis on socialisation as well as developing basic English and maths skills. Indeed, it is generally agreed that, from Kindergarten to Year 3, children are given an academic foundation that will be applied and developed more rigorously afterwards.
After Year 3 students can choose to be enrolled whether in the British program or the American program.
Here’s a glimpse into what the EYFS program at El Alsson has to offer:
Play-Based Learning: Play is at the heart of our EYFS program. We provide a range of purposefully designed indoor and outdoor play areas, enabling children to develop their physical, social, and cognitive skills in a safe and supportive environment. Through play, children learn to communicate, collaborate, problem-solve, and explore their creativity.
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: We focus on supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional well-being. Our nurturing environment encourages children to develop self-confidence, independence, and positive relationships with their peers and teachers. We promote a caring and inclusive atmosphere where children feel valued, respected, and supported.
Communication and Language Development: Language acquisition is a crucial aspect of early childhood development. Through engaging activities, stories, songs, and games, we foster children’s communication and language skills. We provide opportunities for children to express themselves, listen attentively, and develop a love for reading and storytelling.
Physical Development: We prioritize the physical development of our young learners. Our EYFS program includes activities that promote fine and gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness. Children have access to age-appropriate equipment and resources to enhance their physical abilities and support healthy growth.
Cognitive Development: Our EYFS curriculum incorporates a wide range of activities that stimulate children’s cognitive development. Through hands-on experiences, problem-solving tasks, and structured play, children develop early numeracy and literacy skills. We encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
Creative Development: We recognize the importance of nurturing children’s creativity and imagination. Our EYFS program provides opportunities for children to explore various art forms, music, movement, and imaginative play. We celebrate and encourage individuality and self-expression, fostering a love for the arts.
Assessment and Progress Tracking: We closely monitor children’s progress and development through ongoing observation and assessment. Our teachers use a variety of assessment methods to gain insights into each child’s strengths, interests, and areas for further support. This information helps us tailor our teaching to meet individual needs and plan for their future learning.
Parent Partnership: We believe that a strong partnership with parents is vital for a child’s success. We foster open communication and collaboration with parents, involving them in their child’s learning journey. Regular parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and events provide opportunities for sharing progress, discussing strategies, and celebrating achievements.
The Early Years Foundation Stage at El Alsson International School Saqqara lays the groundwork for a lifelong love of learning. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. We invite you to join us on this exciting educational journey and witness the joy and growth that our EYFS program offers.
